About Susanne Jonsson
Susanne loves just everything about of food: Where it comes from, how best to prepare it and what to combine it with to offer the best possible food experience. She is a diehard foodie (hence the company name) who spends her days running restaurants and a catering service, writing cooking books, appearing on cookery shows on radio and TV. In her spare time she spends a lot of time out in the expansive forests in northern Sweden; hunting, fishing, collecting berries and mushrooms. She also enjoys travelling, especially to wine districts in Europe and elsewhere.
Susanne grew up in Norrbotten, the northern part of Sweden, spending a lot of time with her grandparents who lived on the countryside. Her grandfather supplied them with all the natural foods from the forests and lakes surrounding their house. It wasn't until Susanne started school that she first came in contact with processed food. She still remembers how strange and displeasing she thought the food in school smelled and tasted. Thinking that there must be a better way, she went off to catering school and worked several years as a chef and pastry chef.
She has a Masters in Gastronomy (!) from the University of Umeå and an Diploma in Wine knowledge from the Wine & Spirit Education trust in London, Great Britain. Susanne has work experience from working as restaurant manager, project manager in the food industry, written four cookery books, done ten cookery shows for national television in Sweden (TV4) and currently cooks at the daily show Gokväll in SVT 1. All in all, she is blessed with working with her life's most favorite subject: Food
